At Windermere, each agent donates a portion of each closing to The Windermere Foundation. After graduating from UC Berkeley, I spent my early career in marketing in the Silicon Valley for Steve Jobs when he founded NeXT. I stopped working when I started my family and then I began volunteer work at the Lake Oswego schools, helping in the classroom as well as holding different positions in the PTA. I also taught Art Literature for 12 years at both the elementary and Junior High level. With 3 children educated from kindergarten through graduation from LOHS, I have an extensive knowledge of the LO school system!
In 2003, when my youngest was in kindergarten, I began my real estate career here in Lake Oswego and have enjoyed the challenges and successes that have ensued. In our first 9 years of marriage, we moved to Arizona, Maryland, Colorado and Oregon for my husband's job. All of these moves involved various ages and stages of our 3 young children. I know how hard moving is. I also know how much easier it is with a good Realtor!
As a northwest native, I’ve spent most of my life in Oregon, with the exception of a “short 18-year stint” (LOL) in the Seattle area.
I grew up in a family of six, where my siblings and I worked on our dad’s farm, learning the value of hard work. After graduating from OSU with a degree in business, I started my career in sales. This is what eventually took me up to Seattle. Having spent over 20 years selling everything from boxed chocolates to root canal supplies, I learned that what people seemed to value most was my ability to put them at ease from the start. They also appreciated the fact that I actually did what I said I was going to do!
A few years after living in Seattle, I met my future husband and father of our 2 children. Unfortunately, my husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer and passed away prior to the birth of our second child. This left me in a position where I needed to make some life-altering decisions. I ended up moving back to Oregon to be closer to family and to focus on being a mom.
After taking some time to heal, I did some soul-searching to figure out what I really wanted to do. What I discovered was that I’ve always had a passion for real estate. I had bought and sold a couple of homes by then, so I learned what was involved in a transaction. I eventually started doing some real estate investing, which taught me a lot. But something was missing. When thinking about my past sales jobs, the thing I missed the most were the positive connections that I developed with my customers. This lead me to get my real estate license.
I now live in Wilsonville with my husband and 2 sons, who are still in school. A few of my favorite things are listening to music, playing the piano, kayaking, taking trips to the beach or Bend, wine tasting and spending time with my family and friends.
My hard work ethic, honesty, integrity and humility that were instilled in me at an early age are the core values that I live by.
